About the company

Founded in 2009 to provide welfare to work services, the company's flagship product, Aptem, has expanded to service vocational training and employment service providers. It is a fully managed Software-as-a-Service platform which enhances apprenticeship and vocational training. Clients include training and employability providers, universities, colleges, tutors, assessors and employers.

Why we invested

Aptem was designed to tackle the issues that matter most to training providers, including reducing administration, cutting costs and facilitating learning and the delivery of training.  Clients pay a monthly subscription for Aptem based on the number of apprentices they have on the platform. Clients include Universities such as Staffordshire University, University of Salford and University of Kent; specialist training providers such as Corndel, Prevista and Aspire and government bodies such as The Ministry of Justice, HM Revenue & Customs and NHS hospitals.

What the founders say

quotation mark

I am delighted that Guinness Ventures chose to invest in Aptem. They are engaged, informed, pragmatic and supportive. I was sufficiently impressed by how they interacted with Aptem that I chose to invest my own funds with them.
