The round was led by Puma Growth Partners, with participation from existing investors including Guinness Ventures, Beringea and Rianta Capital.

Guinness Ventures first invested in MOTH in March 2025, backing founders Rob Wallis and Samuel Hunt as they built one of the UK’s leading premium ready-to-drink cocktail brands.

UK distribution

40,000+

MOTH products are now available through more than 40,000 distribution points across the UK.

MOTH is now the UK’s second-largest ready-to-drink cocktail brand in grocery. Its products are available through Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Asda, alongside a growing range of other retail and distribution partners.

Why we invested

When we first met Rob Wallis and Samuel Hunt, we were impressed by what they had already achieved.

MOTH had built a distinctive premium brand in one of the fastest-growing segments of the drinks market. At the time of our investment, the company was already the clear leader in the UK’s super-premium ready-to-drink cocktail category, with around 70% market share.

A distinctive brand

MOTH had established a clear and recognisable position within the premium ready-to-drink cocktail market.

Strong retail distribution

The company had secured listings with the UK’s leading grocery retailers and demonstrated clear consumer demand.

International potential

MOTH was beginning to establish a presence in the United States, supported by an experienced management team.

These qualities attracted us to the company and underpinned our decision to invest in March 2025.

Premium cocktails made accessible

MOTH produces bar-quality cocktails in a convenient ready-to-drink format, combining premium ingredients with distinctive branding and broad retail availability.

Delivering on the investment thesis

The business has continued to execute well since our initial investment.

Its position in UK grocery has strengthened, revenue has continued to grow and MOTH has expanded into the United States in a measured way.

The latest funding will enable the company to build on that momentum by increasing its presence in the UK convenience channel while accelerating growth across the US.

The opportunity remains significant. The US ready-to-drink cocktail market is substantially larger than the UK market, and MOTH has already established operations in key states before expanding further.

That measured approach to international expansion formed an important part of our original investment thesis.

Looking ahead

MOTH’s progress reflects the strength of the business, the quality of its team and disciplined execution against a clear strategy.

We congratulate Rob, Sam and the entire MOTH team on this latest milestone and look forward to supporting the company’s continued growth in the years ahead.
